The Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal Guidance Notes have been produced here to provide general information regarding the procedures adopted in dealing with formal complaints about advocates’professional misconduct. You may complain to the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal (ADT) at any time to make a formal complaint about an advocate’s professional misconduct. It is not necessary to use the Law Society’s Conciliation Scheme if you do not wish to. The ADT is independent of the Law Society and is administered by the IOM Government’s Chief Secretary’s office. To make an informal complaint about poor standards of service or to make any other informal complaint which you think might be resolvable between yourself and an Advocate with the Law Society’s help, please use the forms below.
